Howdy, welcome to Raising Outsiders!
What is an Outsider?
out·sid·er | \ ˌau̇t-ˈsī-dər , ˈau̇t-ˌsī- \
1: a person who does not belong to a particular group
2 chiefly British: a contender not expected to win
So Why Raising Outsiders?
Well, it’s two-fold.
Children should not be made to fit inside a box. We are all different and grow up to be different. Teaching your kids to tolerate and engage with people who differ from them is important. I believe that teaching my children that we are all different will help them become better humans.
I also believe children need to be outside! In a world surrounded by ever-changing technology, children are losing valuable skills that only being outdoors can teach. We have seen a rise in sensory processing disorders, and I personally believe it has a great deal to do with the lack of outdoor adventuring.
